John Miller is currently a junior at Greater Lawrence Technical School studying graphics. He is also very involved with sports and is on the autism spectrum. As a child, his mother said he displayed a common tic associated with the disorder, hand flapping, where he would play with his hands and act out stories and movies.
When John got older he wanted to write a book that included some of the stories he made up when he was younger. Local children's author Sherry Cerino helped John and his mother with a go fund me campaign and lent other helpful suggestion on his book creation journey. Ms.Cerino is the founder of Ella's Way, a North Andover-based nonprofit that provides education to young children that promotes diversity, disability acceptance and inclusion.
Everyone is invited to attend a program on February 23rd (Th) at 1:30 pm at the Nevins Library and hear John read excerpts from his Sci-Fi story Adventures in Handom. John will also sign his book at the end of the program. The soft cover book is on sale for $12.00.
